Spider Web Tattoos: Coolness and Darkness Sides
Spider web tattoos can be really fun. They are a real work of art. Before you get one, though, you should know
what they stand for. After all, many tattoos, including spider webs, have meanings behind them. You might or might not want to sport one, depending on the meaning.
Unfortunately, as cool as they look, spider web tattoos have a bad reputation. They have been known to represent how many times a person has been in prison. They’ve also been worn by skinheads, white supremacists and people who are in some way racist or against homosexuality.
They’ve even been known to be worn by people to show that they use drugs. They’ve also been known to represent when someone has murdered a member of a minority, like a medal of honor. In fact, in 1995, a man named James Burmeister allegedly killed a black couple. Then he said that he did it because he wanted to have a spider web tattoo!
Among the most interesting uses for them, though, is as a secret message between gang members. It was impossible for anyone outside the gang to tell the true meanings of the spider web tattoos. Outsiders just thought the people had been put in jail at some point.
So, if, even after knowing all of that, you still want one, go for it. They can be interesting and fun, even if they have a bad background. Just be aware that, if you sport spider web tattoos, some people might think you have a shady background, though!
